ACT vs. SAT? Accommodations?

The Varsity Blues Scandal revealed that requests for accommodations could be manipulated to give an unfair advantage to students who don’t need accommodations. For students who do have testing issues that require accommodations, navigating how to secure accommodations can be critical and time-sensitive. Determining if you qualify for accommodations includes understanding what factors are considered, what documentation is needed, and how long the process will take to receive accommodation approval. For students that do not qualify for accommodations but still find standardized tests do not reflect their abilities or college readiness, building in test-optional schools is a pathway that should not be overlooked. The big takeaway: start early, build a plan, and get your documentation ducks in a row.
