While the college search process is often cloaked in myths, mystery, and unpredictability, it does not have to be filled with stress. Instead, a successful search process incorporates organization, education about colleges, and proactive management of the process that reflects and supports each student’s needs and goals. Personalizing each student’s college search and application process to showcase their specific strengths and ambitions is core to my work. From helping students build a tailored and balanced college list, to assisting students craft unique and distinguished essays, my work with students is designed to foster a successful application process.
Working with students in my private practice, as a high school College Advisor, and my on-going volunteer work allows me to incorporate a breadth of resources that support and benefit students navigating their college search and application process. Combining my College Counseling Certificate with Distinction from UCLA, B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan, and M.F.A. in creative writing, with 17 years of working and volunteering in educational non-profits, I developed a college counseling program that educates, empowers and supports students to successfully achieve their individual college goals. I live in the Bay Area with my husband and beloved “empty nest” pups and love spending time with my children, one who graduated from college in 2016, and the other currently a college student.
